REVIEW: Lord Belial - Nocturnal BeastThis one really came as a surprise to me. I vaguely knew Lord Belial and i did hear a couple of songs of them in the past but they didn't make any real impression on me.
That is until now.
This record is rather outstanding, actually. We're talking Black Metal, here, of course. To my relief, without corpsepaint. Do not expect insane amounts of blastbeats and whirlwinds of fast riffing, because this one's quite 'laid back', so to speak. These Swedes use clean and semi-clean picking in almost every song and have accomplished a near-classic, in my opinion.
The cold and bitter spirit of Immortal is roaming about in the compositions. But let it be clear that the men in Lord Belial have not been stealing or rudely copying Abbath and co.. They do have a unique style and I dare say that this album will appeal a lot of black metal fans. Lord Belial have also managed to pick up Kris Verwimp to do the cover-artwork and the man did a beautiful job, again. The only thing that may bother some people is the lack of real speed-induced songs to get their adrenalin pumping. Uptempo bits are included but don't expect any 'panzer division Marduk' type of insanity.
People who are interested in a great, melodic but gritty black metal record, really should give this nocturnal beast a try.

Necrophobic : In the studioToday, we started the recording of the new, fifth full length album. We will try to run a regular update regarding the progress of the recording process right here on the website. No titles of either the album or any songs will be released at this moment, but as soon as it's time for it, you will get the information here.
There are a lot of new things happening right now. The studio we're using for this album is a total unknown studio. It's called Dark Voodoo Studio and we will work with new persons as well. The engineering parts will be done by Anders Bentell and Fredrik Folkare (the later known for being guitarist and producer of Unleashed).
Apart from that, we will also have a new record label for this new album. We recently ended the deal of any forthcoming new albums with Karmageddon Media (ex Hammerheart Records). More revelaling stuff regarding this matter later on, as well as a possible release schedule/release date.

Psycroptic : signs deal with Neurotic RecordsAustralia's number one export product PSYCROPTIC have just signed a multiple album recording agreement with NEUROTIC RECORDS. This deal will have immediate effect in the release of their third full length album, to be entitled "Symbols Of Failure", which is scheduled for a February 2006 release. Some song titles to appear on the album, in no particular order, are: "Our Evolutionary Architecture", "An Experiment In Transience", "Repairing The Dementional Cluster".
PSYCROPTIC, who create a form of extreme metal not bound to any genre, but highly appreciated in many, are done recording the follow up of 2003's "The Scepter Of The Ancients", which will mark the recording debut of new astounding vocalist Jason Peppiatt. "Symbols Of Failure" is currently being mixed by guitarist Joe Haley, who was also responsible for the flawless recording of the album. Mastering duties will commence right after, and everything will be topped of with amazing cover artwork and layout by brilliant artist Par Olofsson.
PSYCROPTIC drummer David Haley comments: "We are more than excited to release our 3rd album for all to hear on Neurotic Records. So much hard work, time and effort has been put into this release from the song writing process, the recording and all the way to the artwork and packaging. All in PSYCROPTIC agree that this is the best material we have ever done. We cannot wait to get out and play these songs live!"
Ruud Lemmen, founder of NEUROTIC RECORDS adds: "This band is so unique, not only in the insane and crazy songwriting but also in the immense instrumental capabilities the members of PSYCROPTIC embody. We are very happy to be able to work with this band, and obviously we expect quite a lot of this raging Tasmanian quartet."

REVIEW: The Project Hate MCMXCIX - armageddon march eternal (symphony of slit wrists)Christianity according to The Project Hate: Jesus was a big son of a bitch, Mary was a filthy whore, the bible is cursed and christians are a bunch of retarded weak-assed losers. There you have it. What more can i add to this?
The latest effort from Sweden's professional Haters is called 'Armageddon March Eternal (symphony of slit wrists)'. With this record, they develop their unique blend of styles even further. In brief: slick female vocals, brick-heavy and gritty downtuned guitars, spooky synths, fat grunts and occasional breakbeats to spice things up a bit.
For those of you looking for easy-to-get-into songs: this record is a disaster. Other people who are looking for more complex songwriting and tons of variation: eat your heart out, because this one's got it all! Also, songs are not exactly short (+/- 8 minutes), making sure you get your rightful dose of violent, theatrical, stylish but H-H-Heavy death metal. There is never a sign of tediousness or repeating. The songs are of those kind which make a blistering u-turn when you least expect it. Adventurous listening guaranteed!
I, for one, have thoroughly inspected and enjoyed this album. Still listening to it and highly recommending it.

Tony Laureano : Touring with The Black Dahlia MurderAs it's been told elsewhere, I will be sitting in with The Black Dahlia Murder for their Japanese dates in December. Specific dates are in the tour dates section.
I'm looking foward to blasting some tunes with The Black Dahlia guys, should be a lot a fun. Also, due to a last minute change, my trip to Norway has been postponed for a few months, so the recording of the project with the Spiral Architect/Satyricon guys is put off for a bit.
Same goes for the Insidious Disease rehearsals, as those will be done after the recording. Looking at an early January re-schedule for these projects. I may also be squeezing in a few shows with another band in early December, stay tuned for that info.

Bolt Thrower : condemn 'Realm Of Chaos' reissueBolt Thrower condemn Earache 'Realm of Chaos' Reissue
We would like to make it known that this re-release of 'Realm Of Chaos' is by Arseache Records and done without our consent and against our permission.
They are making money off the back of the new album 'Those Once Loyal', as they have done previously with the release of 'Who Dares Wins', again released without our consent or permission.
Bolt Thrower will see no royalties and the money will line the pockets of that lip licker Digby Pearson. Its a cheap shot, and quite sad to see how low a record company can stoop, once they where good, now they are nothing. The new cover is not a patch on the original. We urge all loyal BT supporters to boycott this product...spread the word!!!

Dissection : BASSIST HAAKON FORWALD OUT OF DISSECTIONAs a result of bassist Haakon Forwald's family situation back home in Norway and his initiatory work with the Norwegian cell division of the Misanthropic Luciferian Order (MLO) it has been decided that Forwald will step back from the position as Dissection's bass player in order to focus on his esoteric and exoteric work in Norway. Dissection wish Forwald the best of luck on the path to anti-cosmic gnosis and thank him for his time with the band.
This will not affect the two upcoming shows in Sweden and Germany booked for December and January where Dissection for the last time ever will perform a set based solely on the old albums!
Bass player candidates already exist and are currently being tried out in rehearsals!

Defleshed : over and outFellow comrades,
with a schizophrenic mixture of grief and relief we hereby announce our departure from all Defleshed-activities. Activities that has become more of obligations with the years, which has driven us individually to become more ambitions or less. We are in no way splitting up as unfriends, if anything reversed, and we'll thank you all for your the support through the years in the only way we know how to: a farewell to the flesh gig at Fellini, Uppsala, Sweden the 25th of December (see www.fellini.nu) This night we'll do anything in our power to BLAST YOUR FUCKING FLESH OFF !!!
However, since we've never been to the States (which is an old dream of ours), we'll still try to nail that Dismember tour in April, but this is up to our US label & co. Hope you understand our wish not to become tired, blood-drain has-beens but to end this while we're still potent. We will still go on with metal in diverse bands and future projects of course, of which I'm sure you will hear of in a near future, but as for Defleshed we've simply feel the last chapter has been written. After all, you don't stop playing 'cause your getting old - you get old 'cause you stop playing. Be well and thanks for your attention in our band/

Unleashed : cancelling X-mass tour 2005Warriors!!!
Since the beginning of this year we have announced and promoted our confirmed participation on the X-mass tour 2005. According to the promoter Metallysee, Nuclear Blast records have now sponsored the tour and also have the right to choose which bands they want next to theirs on the bill. Accordingly, they ordered Unleashed off the bill, scared shitless of the competition Unleashed would cause, or just don't like us ? Smart move either way, and quite understandable.
We have tried to book a replacement tour for December as announced on our website. Unfortunately, time was not on our side to do so and we will have to reschedule for next year. We will now concentrate on the final details of the upcoming DVD release and also our 8th full length album. We plan to enter the studio in January 2006.

We never rehearsed as often as for these 10 sound-collages, hell yeah,.....we feel that this will be the mightiest BELPHEGOR jewel yet. Lords of Chaos
San Diego film company ZU33 is currently developing "Lords of Chaos", a fiction film based on true events in the Norwegian black metal music scene in the early 1990s. The project goes into pre-production in November, with physical production scheduled to begin in Februrary 2006. The screenplay was written by Hans Fjellestad, Ryan Page and Adam Parfrey. Fleshgrind : RIPMusic Entertainment Deathmetal
We regretfully wish to inform everyone that FLESHGRIND has officially called it quits. For some that's good news, for others it's gonna suck. The reasoning behind this decision was not an easy one after 13 years but we feel this is the best time to move on. Before our last show about a month ago vocalist Rich Lispcomb formally stepped down from the position. Instead of contemplating replacing Rich with another vocalist, the remaining three members: Steve Murray, James Genenz, and Jesse Kehoe; have decided to move on in a new project. It just wouldn't be right calling ourselves FLESHGRIND if Rich isn't involved. Rich has decided he needs a life change. His heart just wasn't into it anymore, business wise and artistically, so he is moving on. He sold his business, United Guttural Records, and will be moving to Michigan to get on with his life. The three of us have no hard feelings towards Rich and his decision, and respect him even more for coming out about how he felt, and we are excited about the uninhibited possibilites for our new project. We are currently undergoing a group soul search to determine our direction in our future endeavors, and will be looking for a singer and possibly a second guitarist to fill out the group, although that search has yet to get underway. For now we just wish to respectfully put FLESHGRIND to rest. We wish to thank every single person that has ever supported us in any way. You all know who you are.
